Frequently asked rental questions
If you don't see what you're looking for here, reach out to us and we'll get it taken care of right away.
Do I need to be certified to rent equipment?
Yes. Any gear that requires a certification to use safely (drysuits, doubles, sidemount, rebreather units) is only rented to divers holding the matching cert. Bring your certification card when you pick up your gear. If you're training with us, your instructor will sort out what you need for each stage of the course.
What do I need to bring when I pick up my rental?
A valid photo ID and your certification card, plus a security deposit. If you're renting for a course, this usually gets sorted out when you book. If you're renting for fun diving or a guided trip, swing by the shop ahead of your first dive day so nothing holds up your morning.
What's included in a rental package, and what does it cost?
It depends on how much of the kit you need. A Singles Package (Halcyon Infinity BCD, HP cylinder, regulators, and a Shearwater computer) runs $75 a day. A Doubles Package (backplate, wing, regulators, HP cylinders, computer, canister and backup light) runs $125 a day. Everything can also be rented piece by piece, from a single regulator first stage to a drysuit, hood, or dry gloves, so if you already own most of your kit and just need to fill a gap, you're not paying for a full setup. Ask us for the current price list when you book, since it covers everything down to individual accessories.
Does the cylinder rental include gas fills?
No. Cylinder rental covers the tank itself; gas is billed separately by the fill. We keep 32%, 50%, 21/35, and 18/45 on tap, along with custom blends, so whatever you're diving, we can fill it while you wait.
How far ahead should I book rental gear?
The sooner the better, especially for drysuits, undergarments, and technical configurations, since those come in a limited range of sizes. If you're diving during a busy stretch of the season, book your gear at the same time you book your course or trip rather than a day or two out.
What happens if something goes wrong with my rental gear during my trip?
Stop by the shop. If something fails or you're missing a piece, we'll sort it out and get you back in the water. Cold water conditions don't leave much margin for a gear problem to turn into a lost dive day, so we'd rather fix it on the spot than have you sit one out.
