Frequently asked questions
All the details about our service and maintenance options
How often does my gear actually need servicing?
Annually, or every 100 dives, whichever comes first, and that applies even if you only dived twice last year. Regulators, BCDs, and drysuits break down from salt, storage, and time, not just use. Cylinders need a visual inspection every year and a hydro test every few years on top of that. Skipping a year because the gear "seemed fine" is how a small seal problem turns into a flooded suit on day one of a trip.
How long does a service take?
It depends on the job and what parts are on hand, but fast turnaround is something we build the shop around rather than treat as a bonus. If you've got a trip booked, tell us the date when you drop your gear off. Bringing it in the week before is cutting it closer than it needs to be.
Can I just get a quick check before a trip instead of a full service?
Yes, and it's worth doing even between full services. We run through a full equipment checklist before any dive day leaves the shop, and the same thing applies to a pre-trip check: five minutes spent looking things over is a lot cheaper than a lost dive day.
I dive here and in Seattle. Can my gear get serviced across both shops?
Yes. Through our partnership with the Eight Network, service history and turnaround stay connected on both sides of the border, so your gear comes back properly maintained no matter which shop touched it last.
